Rescue:

A woman had been calling around to different rescues in her area, trying to find a place for a
pretty cat in her backyard. This is Melba’s story: Apparently this pretty Torti had been crying at
her door for a few months. She wasn’t able to bring it into her house (as much as she loves
cats) because her husband was highly allergic. She immediately she began feeding her and
developed a routine in the morning and in the evening, but where she slept overnight; they
never did figure that out. She appeared to be clean and dry when she came into the sanctuary
so she must have found a corner somewhere inside a shed, or the neighbours dilapidated
pool house possibly. Because Melba would only come within a few feet of the woman, she
was rescued by using a humane trap, and on the drive to the sanctuary she was asking a lot of
questions (mewing). Upon arrival she was easy to pet and pushed her head into our hands
with love and affection. At this time she was hugely pregnant and she had her kittens within seven days.

Personality:

Marble can be timid in new situations but if given some space and allowed to explore on her
own she comes out of her shell. In a confident space she is nosey and curious, loving to sit on
the back of a chair near your shoulder or on your lap for cuddles. She is a playful girl and loves
the wand play, chasing and jumping up at it. Like her sister Magic she will supervise the litter
box duties and make sure things are clean and tidy. Marble will dive into the crinkle tunnels
and chase after balls that bounce or make noise. They are the best! As an affectionate girl
she will rub against you for attention and and enjoys cheek scratches. Marble is ready to be
adopted into her forever home with a playmate or sibling. One that will welcome her into the
family and keep her safely indoors.
