Rescue
The weather was finally warming up and the rain of spring had stopped for the time being, when a woman discovered a litter of kittens under her back deck. Mai-Lyn was born under a wheel barrow, amongst dry leaves and a garden hose. Her momma chose the right home, because the people who owned the house fed her until they could rescue this feline family. She had four kittens: one was black and white, two were grey and white, and little Mai-Lyn was almost all black. The woman and her family kept one of the kittens, and another rescue group took the other two (but would not take Mai-Lyn because she was black!?). When she was just 9 weeks old, this little bundle of fluff was brought to Pet Patrol. She was frightened and felt very alone. We were lucky enough to have a momma cat named Mandy who took Mai-Lyn on as her own. Mai-Lyn was quite appreciative of that and has flourished in our care.
Personality
Mai-Lyn is long, lean, majestic, and almost Siamese in stature. When she arrived at Pet Patrol, she was not sure about being picked up and cuddled. She has come a long way since then and now she is a very sweet and gentle cat. She is quite playful, will chase cat toys around the room or climb the kitty climber like Mt. Everest, with determination and a sense of pride. Mai-Lyn can be a little unsure of loud noises or people she does not know, but she bonds closely to her caregivers. She is ready to be adopted into a home that is gentle and serene. One that will care for her, keep her safely indoors, and love her forever. She deserves it.
