One of Pet Patrol‘s Volunteers was out walking a community trail with her husband and their dogs. In the distance she could see a white cat up in a tree, he was very high up. The tree was tall with branches midway then about six feet of bare trunk and then there was Mac sitting up top. He was crying his heart out. Other people walking by noticed him but kept going. Our volunteer had to stop. After unsuccessfully trying to talk him down she started to climb the tree as her husband moved a distance away with their dogs so as not to startle Mac. She got within four feet of him and Max started to purr and was so happy to see her. He got excited and jumped down, landing on her head, Then he took off. Quickly trying to follow him our volunteer found Mac on a little piece of ground surrounded by marsh. He couldn’t go any farther. She crouched down thinking he was going to run again but instead he came to her and was ready to be rescued. She was able to pick him up and carry him all the way home. Mac was now safe and sound. There were no houses or barns within sight so where he came from or why he was so high in the tree is anyone’s guess.

Mac turned out to be a wonderfully loving sweet cat. He gets along very well with the other cats in the sanctuary and has made some friends. Anyone who comes to visit is enchanted by his friendliness. Definitely a lap cat, affectionate and interested in all you do. Toys are quite exciting to him and he romps around chasing anything that crinkles or jingles. He loves laying in the sunbeam. Mac is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
