Rescue
Katey was going to be euthanized because “she was not cute enough” ! She and two other cats were on Death Row at a shelter in another city. They had been there for almost three weeks, and although they were all friendly, affectionate and a little goofy, their time was up and their days numbered. This shelter takes in 8000 cats a year and euthanizes 6000. That includes old and young cats, friendly and feral. They have an expiry date, and unless the cat is adopted or a rescue group takes them in, they are put down. Katey was observed to be “not attractive” and so she was on the short list. But the volunteer who saw her, and took time to get to know her, realized this is quite a nice cat, with a huge personality. Katey was then brought to Pet Patrol.
Personality
Well Katey is quite the girl. She is so much fun to watch as she plays with toys or other cats. She is bright and alert and does not miss anything. She loves to cuddle with you on the couch and is up against you during the night in bed. She lets you know when she is hungry, and when she wants your affection. She will sometimes sit behind you on the couch and lick your head/ hair. Kinda odd, but kinda cute. She has a mind of her own, and will let you know when she does not like something, such as playing rough with her. She is pretty intolerant to that. Katey loves other cats and is very affectionate with them, and likes to play games of Tag and Catch the Tail. She is gentle and sweet. Katey is ready to be adopted into a gentle and loving home. She is looking for a family that will keep her safely indoors and love her for all she is. Katey is remarkable!
