One of Pet Patrol’s volunteer’s works for a large company, and one of her coworkers owns a farm. She has quite a few cats there, and many years ago she diligently had them all spayed or neutered in order to control the over population Even so, it is not uncommon for a stray to show up here and there; all of a sudden. It is never known where they originally came from, possibly abandoned at the end of the lane or migrated from another farm. One day, out of the blue, this handsome young boy showed up at the patio door of the house. He was friendly and affectionate, would wrap himself around your legs and look up at you with love in his eyes. He was pretty hungry but not in terrible shape, so we don’t think he was out there for very long. Oddly, he would not go into the barn to live, he stayed close to the house and when the woman came out he stuck to her like glue. Although Journey is friendly, he seemed frightened as well, and it all became clear one day when she witnessed a nomad tom cat stalking and attacking Journey. That was enough, she knew he couldn’t stay at the farm and he deserved better. She then called Pet Patrol.

Journey is not a big cat but is almost full grown, so he will always be just a little guy. He was not sure what we were up to when he first arrived at the sanctuary but from his integration cage he watched the other cats and volunteers and got used to the routine. Within a few days he was comfortable around everything, which is good, discovered toys and loves to be pet, have a good back massage and ear scratch. He purrs deeply and has a wonderful kitty smile on his face. He is very sweet and well behaved, and certainly deserves a more permanent home that is stable and loving. Journey is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
