Jackson was rescued from a feral colony, one where the cats had no trust in people, have never been handled and were generally living by luck alone. The woman who was manning their feeding station called our TNR program for help, they just could not continue to live like this. They were living behind a group of houses in a subdivision in the city. There was a big garage there and the cats found shelter inside it and inside sheds in the area. They are all very street smart and very suspicious of the humane trap, so much so that she was only ever able to rescue one adult cat to have it altered. When our volunteer took on the site she rescued twelve kittens and they have been very challenging to tame. Although they have been able to keep the population down by getting the kittens, they have not been able to rescue the moms. Very Very smart cats. Jackson is a true success and has become quite the sweetheart

Jackson was not sure what people were all about when he first came into care and was in a foster home. But with time and patience his true happy personality came through. He has definitely changed and he is now people friendly. Jackson likes being petted and having his belly rubbed which is a sign of trust. In his previous foster home he would often come to visit his care giver in bed at night, sleeps on the bed with other cats and the family dog. He actually cuddles with the dog at every chance. Jackson will come from anywhere in the house for his favorite treats and greet you at the door when you come home. He is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors..
