Rescue:

Hazel was first spotted scurrying across the street of a quiet cul de sac. The woman who spotted her realized that Hazel was frightened, so very thin and was in need of help and food. It didn’t take long for this kitty to realize where the feeding station was, and she regularly arrived for her daily meal. But she remained fearful and would not come near the food if any people were in sight. One day it was obvious the she was pregnant and before they could arrange a live trap for her she had given birth to the kittens. By now the woman had her neighbours on board, watching for Hazel and keeping track of her. They noticed her slipping into the wood pile next door, and within a few weeks her little kittens were peeking their heads out to see the big wide world. By now a live trap was set up and just before a thunderstorm Hazel was rescued. With the teeming rain, she was brought into safety and that is when we realized that she is indeed a friendly and affectionate cat. The next morning the wood pile was meticulously dismantled until they found the babies. They were almost at the very bottom, in a little cave created by the logs. They are all safe and sound now, happy to be living indoors.

Personality:

Talk about one of the sweetest and most energetic cats out there. Hazel was not only noticeably a good mom, but once her kittens became more independent her personality really shone. An adventurous kitty who started playing and investigating her new space, and always enjoyed a spot looking out the window. She is a very friendly and affectionate cat who enjoys the company of people, seeks it out and likes to be part of things. She is not shy, and will make herself known for a cuddle and pet. She is a dear little cat with beautiful soft grey fur and crisp white markings, and is impeccable about keeping her coat clean. Hazel is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
