Rescue:

A couple live out in the country, where it is quiet, mellow and away from neighbours and noise. They have a long lane way leading up to their house and there is a sensor that tells them when someone is in the driveway. Often it is indicating that someone is dropping off a cat, unceremoniously and without hesitation. Plop them out the car door and drive off. One day Hankee showed up. He appears to be about nine months old and was just wandering around. He was quite frightened and extremely hungry. On this property there is a caboose that holds the feed for the rescued horses, and it is left open when a stray cat is noticed on the property. Hankee took advantage of that and from there he was rescued and brought into the house. He curled up in a ball and barely peered out at his rescuers, but he could be picked up, cuddled and reassured and soon he began to relax and become himself again. We never really know what we are getting when we rescue a cat. Are they truly feral or are they friendly but frightened. Luckily this good looking grey and white boy was taken in by kind people who gave him the opportunity to be himself again.

Personality:

Hankee is a real fan of chin rubs and cuddling. A kind cat, never naughty with nibbling on you; just kitty kisses and hugs. He is very interested in watching the world from the safety of the window sill, knowing he is safe now and has no desire to venture out again. He is learning about toys and likes to chase after the wand toys; catnip mice are great and anything that crinkles. Hankee likes to be with his people as well, following you around and wanting to know what you are doing. His purr is amazing. This nice boy is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
