It is not uncommon to find cats or kittens on the street, hiding in bushes or under cars. They could be lost or abandoned, but mostly they are alone and hungry. For a kitten it is especially difficult because they depend on adult cats for their protection and nurturing, finding food and shelter too. One of our volunteers, who fosters cats and kittens for Pet Patrol, was talking to a colleague about a kitten she had found. Tiny little Fidget was all by herself in a ditch by the side of a country road. She was scared but quickly warmed up when they got her into their garage (due to extreme allergies they were not able to bring her into the comfort of their home). She mewed for affection and snuggled right into them right away and they knew that she was not a feral cat at all. A new home needed to be found. The foster mom took her home, and from there she was spayed and vaccinated, microchipped too. She learned her name quickly. Fidget is always looking for the next toy to play with! Her foster parents think she might even prefer playtime to food!

Fidget is a feisty little girl, and plays with her older foster brothers just as rough as they do! She was a little scared of them at first, but now they are fast friends. She loves people most of all and rushes to greet her foster parents as soon as they come in. She loves to play with people when they’re in the room (sometimes play nibbling, just like a puppy!), and gives a few short meows when they leave the room to say goodbye and ‘come back soon!’ She loves head bops and will bump her sweet head up to yours almost as soon as she meets you. Fidget is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
