Rescue:

Fern and her brother Frankie were recently surrendered by a lady who lives in a beachside community. It is a quaint little place, safe and secluded, and some people allow their cats to roam freely outside of their home. The woman didn’t have a lot of money and she hadn’t gotten her cat spayed, so she wouldn’t allow her outside for fear of losing her or her becoming prey to wild life and she provided a stable home. Suddenly one day the cat was startled and made the wrong decision and ran out the front door. The woman’s heart sank and she spent the next few days and nights searching frantically for her cat. Having a solid bond with her owner, this pretty little cat finally returned home, seemingly no worse for wear. Fast forward eight weeks and the cat gave birth to six kittens. The woman raised them in her home and found good homes for four of them but there were no takers for Fern and Frankie. Through the grapevine she heard about Pet Patrol and contacted us to see if we could help rehome these lovely cats. Soon they were in our care.

Personality:

Fern and Frankie are adorable. They have settled into their life at the sanctuary, with the other cats with no issues. They are friendly and affectionate, easy to pick up and cuddle, and like to keep you company. They are inquisitive and like to watch or be part of the action, never hiding or skittish. Both are lap cats and very playful as well. Some of their favourite things are the kitty tunnel and the tallest cat climber. Looking out the window from the top perch at the world outside fascinates them. Both Fern and Frankie are ready to be adopted into their forever home. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
