Edie came into Pet Patrol care with another kitty Evie. They could very well be sisters or mother and daughter, and they are very sweet and gentle cats. Edie came from a country property where there were no longer any animals in the barn. The couple living on the property had retired from their dairy farm duties but the husband kept his office out there. It was a heated room and the two cats spent part of their day with him. He really liked them, much to his wife’s chagrin, and insisted on keeping them. His wife insisted on making sure they were spayed, so arrangements were made with the vet. Once examined it was found that Edie was extremely dehydrated, Evie had a cold and both were completely covered in fleas. Upon hearing this the wife relinquished custody to the vet, she was not interested in any extra expenses for medication and treatments. The vet called Pet Patrol and we are quite pleased and relieved that these pretty girls are now in our care so they can have a healthy and secure future.

Edie is very curious, gentle and calm. She can be both independent or cuddly with the other cats in the sanctuary. To her frequent visitors at the sanctuary, Edie will greet them when they arrive and chat away at feeding time. It has been wonderful watching her discover toys and become a happy and healthy cat. Often you can find her curled up on the couch, basking in a sunbeam or watching the world outside from the kitty climber. She is a funny little cat and it will take a bit of time for her to adjust to a new home, but once comfortable she is wonderful. Edie is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
