Dotty and her siblings came from a barn where they were lucky enough to be fed and sheltered. The owner of the property was working with a local rescue group and wanted the kittens rehomed and the adult cats spayed and neutered. She no longer wanted to add to the overpopulation of cats in her barn. But there was one female cat that was very elusive and they were unable to rescue her last fall, and this spring she became pregnant. Again they attempted to rescue her; with a few different methods this time, but she outsmarted us all. She gave birth to her five kittens in the hayloft and the owner contacted us to see if we would help with this litter as well. The kittens were easy to rescue because they were so small at the time, eating on their own but not quite eight weeks of age. The mother cat was finally rescued and spayed and is still in the barn enjoying her freedom. In the meantime her kittens Duncan, Della, Dolly, Duncan and Dotty have become happy and healthy kittens.

Dotty and all of her litter mates are complete snuggle bugs! They want to be curled up in your lap for a nice nap and if you’re not petting them, they will let you know by mewing and patting you with a paw. They’ve been handled by young children and totally love the attention. Dotty is very social and outgoing, She is a chatty cat and will let you know when she wants attention. She is happy to be picked up and cooed to. She is a playful kitten and likes her toys, tunnels and kitty climber. Dotty is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family, hopefully with a sibling, and keep her safely indoors
