One of Pet Patrol’s volunteers recently visited a family who had asked for some help finding homes for their cats and kittens. They had a few beloved cats of their own, and had taken in two more when a close relative sadly passed away. The only cats spayed or neutered were the ones that were inherited. Three females and two males, all adults, are not altered and the resulting of a mature Donovan and his Dad Davey, plus twelve kittens are now a strain on their ability to give everybody the love and attention they need, and Vet care is not even in the budget. Our volunteer mentioned that the family lives in an apartment in a beautiful old building, but they now have ten cats in total (they would not relinquish three of the kittens to us). We are still in negotiations to help the family have their cats spayed or neutered so that the over population in their home will not continue.

Donovan is all about sweetness and cuddles. When he first came into our care he hid under the blankets all the time, and we are thinking this is a habit from his previous busy home. If he was feeling insecure, that is where he will be. His foster mom spent a lot of time hugging him and talking to him gently, reassuring him that all was good. Nice relaxing massages and smooches seemed to do the trick. Donovan rarely hides now and is out and about with the other cats. He is so gentle and lovable, he just steals your heart. We have enjoyed watching him learn about toys and exploring his new environment. He is excited to be in a happy place. Donovan is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors
