Rescue:

Daney’s story told by her rescuer: A woman approached me at work one day, asking if I knew anyone that could help her with some cats that she had. She lived in the country just outside of the city and it seemed that they took in a stray kitten from a friend a few years back. They did not have her spayed, she was free roaming on the property and she had her first litter at ten months of age, all seven of them. Some kittens were adopted and some stayed in the barn. They in turn had kittens as well and Daney and Destina were kittens from litter #5 from the same first cat. The woman made a shelter for them all in her barn and cared for them by providing food and fresh water daily. Her children were pretty intent on handling the kittens which made them very people friendly and cuddly. Even so, the woman was struggling to find homes for them all now, and things were quickly getting out of control. She was desperate to get this stopped and felt the cats deserved a better life than this. Pet Patrol was called to help, and we took in Daney, Destina and six kittens.

Personality:

All of Destina’s kittens love to play hard and then sleep hard; they have no other modes it seems at this young age. Delphie and her sister Dahlia are almost like twins with their coat colour and personalities. Delphie is a sweet girl who is curious, energetic and loves to leap and climb fearlessly. She is also an explorer around house, and any closets or new things that come into the house are checked over. She is friendly and affectionate with her people and easy to pick up and carry around. She can hold her own during playtime, Bouncy balls and plastic spring toys are a favourite, as is playing with her siblings. It would be nice for her to be adopted with one of them or where there is a playmate for her for company, snuggles and energy bursts. Delphie is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her and a sibling into the family and keep them safely indoors.
