Daney’s story told by her rescuer: A woman approached me at work one day, asking if I knew anyone that could help her with some cats that she had. She lived in the country just outside of the city and it seemed that they took in a stray kitten from a friend a few years back. They did not have her spayed, she was free roaming on the property and she had her first litter at ten months of age, all seven of them. Some kittens were adopted and some stayed in the barn. They in turn had kittens as well and Daney and Destina were kittens from litter #5 from the same first cat. The woman made a shelter for them all in her barn and cared for them by providing food and fresh water daily. Her children were pretty intent on handling the kittens which made them very people friendly and cuddly. Even so, the woman was struggling to find homes for them all now, and things were quickly getting out of control. She was desperate to get this stopped and felt the cats deserved a better life than this. Pet Patrol was called to help, and we took in Daney, Destina and six kittens.

Daney is a very pretty dilute calico cat, who was pregnant but lost her kittens. She soon stepped up and helped her sister Destina (as they are quite bonded), who had just had six kittens, by cleaning and nursing them. She loves kittens and is over all a warm and loving cat to people and other pets. It has been wonderful watching her mature and learn about living indoors, soft beds, and a climate controlled home. Daney is very interested in toys now, liking to chase after plastic springs and toys that make noise. She is adorable, affectionate, a lap cat and likes everyone. Daney is ready to be adopted into her forever home with her sister Destina. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
