Rescue:

Told by her rescuer: Cheddar appeared in my garden, near a forested rural area on 75 acres,
in late May. There are farms along our road, so perhaps she came from a barn, but other
animals also have been dumped in our area in the past. When found she was extremely skinny
and scared, but with food she quickly became affectionate and trusting but still cautious. In
early June we found her nest of four babies, only 2-5 days old. We moved them all into a
room attached to our house and had the mobile vet examine them. As she raised her kittens
Cheddar really preferred to be inside. She was an amazing mother and when around my
children (ages 14 &16) she was very affectionate and loved to play with every toy. Cheddar
did well with families and young children that came to visit as long as they were quiet, calm and
gentle. She never scratched, bit or hissed, but would hide if she felt scared or uncomfortable.

Personality:

Cheddar has settled into the sanctuary just fine. She is gentle and affectionate, and likes to be
pet and have her ears rubbed and neck massaged. She is playful and fun loving, liking to chase
after toys that roll and bounce, catnip is always a favourite and so is the perch by the window.
Cheddar is happy to be an indoor cat. She is appreciative of the comforts of a home, and
people who take care of her. Such a pretty little girl, with a sweet purr. Cheddar is ready to
be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors
