Rescue
Bonita was discovered roaming alone outside at a small remote lake that is peaceful and quiet. She would routinely come up to people in the area and rub up against their legs in a friendly gesture, but she was on her guard and would scoot away whenever anyone leaned down to pet her. The people who live on the lake didn’t know where she came from, and they don’t often see stray cats in their area. One of the neighbours took his humane trap out of storage with the intention of trying to rescue Bonita. He was pleasantly surprised when she came trotting around the corner of his garage, walked right in to the trap and tripped the mechanism immediately! He never expected it to be that easy. It was as though she realized he wanted to help her, and that this was her ticket out of the cold weather and onto safely.

Personality
When Bonita first came to Pet Patrol she was exhausted, all she did was eat and sleep for three straight days. She was starved and emaciated from living on the streets, as well as exhausted from fending for herself. Once she was feeling better it was evident what a sweet and affectionate little cat she is and so very appreciative of her new surroundings. Now that she is safe and warm she is able to play like a kitten should and has regained her carefree self. She especially likes the kitty climber, and any toy that rolls near her is fair game to be pounced on. She is a joy to watch! Bonita is now ready to be adopted into a gentle and loving home, one that will welcome her as part of the family and keep her safely indoors.
