Rescue
In the past Pet Patrol has taken kittens from a farm owned by a nice couple. When they first purchased the property, there were about ten cats in the barn, all unaltered and ill. The couple improved the cats’ health by feeding them proper cat food and getting all of them spayed or neutered. Just when they figured they had everything under control, a litter of tiny kittens was found with a mother cat they did not recognize. This was their first introduction to being a rural dumping spot for unwanted cats from the city. Most of the cats were pregnant females. When Pet Patrol became involved we saw about a dozen hay-insulated birthing nests with heat lamps in the barn. There were one or two females in each nest with their kittens. When the kittens were weaned they went to Pet Patrol or another rescue group and the mother cats were spayed and returned to the barn if feral. Today there are only about one or two litters born in the barn each year. Pet Patrol took Bindi into our care with his two sisters.

Personality
Initially Bindi can be a little shy, and he likes to be reassured of his new surrounding and new people by being petted and having his ears rubbed. Giving him canned cat food was what really won him over and he is quite a talker when he knows it is time to eat. Once oriented he is playful and active, chasing everything that moves and he makes up his own games of “Tag” and “Chase the Tail”. He loves the kitty climber and checking out the squirrels on the other side of the window. Bindi is very sweet and passive, but he likes to have another cat in the house for companionship. He is now ready to be adopted and is looking for a home that is loving and gentle. One that will welcome him as part of the family and keep him safely indoors.
