Rescue
Pet Patrol received a call from a woman who had been feeding stray cats in her neighbourhood, near the down town area. The cats would come onto the back porch, out of the weather and eat undisturbed. Two young cats showed up in early summer, right after another litter of kittens and their parents had been rescued. At first she was surprised to see more cats so soon, then she was shocked to see three little grey and white babies tagging along (Askim being one of them). It was just a day or two in between feline families. But like the others she fed them faithfully. In time she gained their trust and they regained their health. She did not know where they found shelter as under her porch was no longer available. We are sure that they felt the fear of being prey though. Patrol had no foster space so soon after rescuing the others, so the woman thought about it and decided one spare room in her home would work well for the babies. Now they are safe and sound in Pet Patrol care.
Personality
Askim is a sweet little cat. He is likes to be picked up and cuddled, have his ears rubbed and his neck massaged. Like all kittens he is playful and curious. Although it may take him a little bit of time to assess, when his environment is changed, there is not much that goes unnoticed, sniffed, poked at or pounced on. He is pretty good at watching things that are dangled in front of him, and he can chase down a toy mouse like no other. Askim is ready to be adopted into a gentle and loving home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors. He is a nice little cat, deserving of a forever home.
