Rescue:
Poor Abby. She was found in a cat carrier sitting by herself outside the door of a church.
One of the parishioners had gone to the church that day to do some work, it is a good thing
for Abby that he had. He was quite surprised to see the carrier outside the front door, and
even more surprised to see a kitty inside staring back at him with fearful eyes. He quickly
took her inside and contemplated what to do. He remembered one of the church ladies is
active with Pet Patrol and he contacted her immediately. soon afterwards she showed up
at the church and brought pretty Abby home with her. We are not sure exactly where she
came from but obviously her owner could not care for her any longer and didn’t want to just
release her outside or take her to the city shelter. Were they connected to the church at
all? We will never know. Abby happily settled into her foster home, but it did take a while
for her to trust people again
Personality:
Abby is a striking light brown tabby with a captivating and complex personality. She shows
her affection through companionship – there’s nothing she loves more than to show up
wherever you are to settle down for a nap in a nearby spot. She thrives best as an only cat,
where she can feel safe and chase toys at night after a bit of catnip. The longer you know
her, the more comfortable she will be getting pets and seeking affection on her own terms.
Clean, tidy, and independently-minded, Abby is an ideal companion for someone seeking to build an unbreakable bond of trust with a cat who has finally learned how
to love. Abby is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into
the family and keep her safely indoors.
